Charming discovery in Cape Town - Tintagel Guest House
Thursday, December 30th, 2010
During my brief stay in Cape Town I wanted to find a quiet place to get over my 27 hour flight (Albuquerque, Atlanta, Amsterdam, Cape Town!) In the past I have stayed at very nice hotels close to the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront but this time I wanted to try something new. I did some research and was lucky enough to find the Tintagel Guest House.
It has an ideal location in the Kloof Street precinct. At the base of Table Mountain it is within walking distance of lovely restaurants and shops. Nothing is too far away. The guest house is set back from the street behind old, shady trees. It’s architect owner has painstakingly refurbished the interior — it is deliciously tasteful not only in its decor and thoughtful use of color but also the fabulous breakfast that is included and prepared by wonderful Adry and her staff. Beautiful, top of the line bedding. Quiet (ask for a back courtyard room.) And free internet.
They have shuttle service available from the airport and can arrange for any additional sightseeing that may interest you. I recommend the Tintagel and hope you will pay them a visit next time you are in Cape Town.
